TATA Communications WiMAX

VSNL / TATA Communications has launched its WiMAX services for consumers in Bangalore this week. Even though the branding is yet to be done, it will be known as TATA Indicom WiMAX broadband service for now. Bookings have started this week and installations will start from Monday. Reliance WiMAX had lot of issues when they started, but VSNL claims that they have done extensive testing like about more than a year and they have been providing WiMAX services to their corporate customers till now. They claim to have more than double base stations installed in Bangalore than Reliance. With the help of more base stations, they will be able to handle more requests, so lesser DHCP issues probably. TATA Indicom broadband (wireline) had frequent disconnection problems because of last mile overhead connectivity in Bangalore and other big cities. WiMAX should resolve this problem. So some tough competition for Reliance WiMAX now !
The plans available are the same as TATA Indicom broadband plans, but plans with 256 kbps and above only. All prices are inclusive of taxes and all plans have unlimited data transfer.

VSNL does have good conection , but once is starts giveing trouble ..well there is no end
i had the connection for more than 1 year and one fine day it stopped working (cable theft , thats what vsnl local engineer told me )
after thats my complaints automatically get resolved in customer care ( FOR FAKE SLA sake )
i get new complaint id every time i called
service would start and then again stop working after few days
then one fine day service went down and did not work for 6 days and thats when i canceled the service and took airtel
i miss the tata connection , they charged more but there speed was amazing ( till it started giving problem )
but then airtel broadband is better in sense they have proper wireing and i never had a outage more than a yer with then now (apart form faulty handset they provided with the connection and refuse to replace )

My experience of using VSNL:[Anaronline]
I’m using VSNL[a.k.a Anaronline] since 2+ years. but in last year i havesuffered a lot.
when there is raining my net wont connect.And answer form their custemorcare everytime due to rain there is problem so engineer will fix tomorrow.
Can u imagine?
My net was down for more then 4months in 1 year connection.[Not constantly more then 4 months but overall..may be more than 5 too]
And after raining season also one month constant problem of net during nighthours and answer from them that power problem and it’ll be solved tomorrow and same problem every night that month
And i had combopackage.[64KBPS DAY TIME-256KBPS nighttime]
Then if problem in net during nighthours what’s benifit of Combopackage?
Moreover, for 1-2months there was problem in speed also…even during nighthours i was getting speed of 64KBPS only [acc to package i shd get 256KBPS] and they answered problem directly form mumbai and will be solved in 3-4days and it take 1-2months to get 256KBPS again during nighthours.
And unfortunatly mit was last month of my connection.[I consider fortunately as time and stress form checking if net is on or checking speed is ok or calling to cc]
and mostly i had problem in connection after 9-10pm and i call to custemorcare they tell engineer will come tomorrow…[so no benifit of night 256KBPS]
And i usually use net at nighthours..
so i have to suffer a lot.
have to waste so much time and money in calling to their customercare and checking if net is ok.[as if i check after 7pm and net is down then i have to wait for 1 day to make it on..dam it]
Lastly this is lastmonth on my VSNL connection..
after my lots of complains they extended my account only 4 1 month [connection was down for more then 4-5month] and also i have to waste lot of itme in solving problems and stress unnecessarily.
So finally i’ll go for BSNL broadband fomr nextmonth.
Hope it’ll not let me down.

TATA/VSNL sucks

TATA/VSNL sucks….here is my experience.
I am from Pune. I have a prepaid TATA broadband connection at home. My connection was down for almost 4 months and after a lot of call and abuses these bugger fixed the line and now the connection validity has expired but these idiots are not giving the extension. I am just chasing up.
Its really TATA (goodbye).

A process for complaint registration (about dns entry) requires that I give my password to customer care executive. When I say that passwords are supposed to be secret and not to be shared customer care person says that he can not register the complaint without I revealing the password. And he did not…
Can it get more stupid than this?
Tata Indicom, what are you guys doing? How can you ask password to your users over phone…

I dont know when these guys are going to provide good services to people.I registered for TATA.In Bangalore they are not able to give connection for 3 months though they promised it in 10 days.I feel banks and railways are somewhat well off rather than other Govt departments at least on financial issues. I went there for 3 weeks only to hear of a postponed date. Now i have asked to cancel the connection.It seems i hav to again go to the office several times.No updates at all.I wonder how this get a good image from some public.
Tata also is not well managed and they are not providing connections all parts of Blore.Their customer care is also poor.Seems Airtel is gud and heard they will giv compensative amount if the connection is not restored in a day.

I was really shocked to see that one can no longer recharge online for an internet connection (see the irony there). What age are TATAs living in? Even if you go to the nearest CTO (in charge of delivering recharge packs) they will not have the pack which you want.

I have a serious complain against VSNL.
My mails are being hacked. A complain was registered with VSNL and Cyber Crime Cell - Mumbai on 5th August, 2006.
Since our mails of VSNL email addresses were hacked continously, we opened an account with DIRECT - I. Still the mails were hacked. We had requested DIRECT - I to give us the logs - IP addresses which accessed our email accounts unauthorisedly. They gave us the IP addresses which belong to VSNL IPS. VSNL was approached by Cyber Crime officers to give the contact details of those IP addresses. VSNL sent a reply stating that the concerned logs are not available. This message was given to us by Cyber Crime verbally. We insisted that we should get a written reply but they claimed that this, being, a confidential matter, they were unable to give in writing. We approached VSNL. They asked us to approach Cyber Crime.
Our business is seriously affected due to hacking. In fact, we have spent appx.Rs.40 Lacs on exhibitions abroad. I have visited various countries in my appx. 100 foreign marketing visits and the fruits are taken by the hacker whi delets all the important mails and leaves only spam mails in my webmail account.
I request you to help me out lodge the complain with appropriate authorities.

To add to this long and woeful nature of VSNL broadband service here is another one.
Our broadband service from vsnl is down since 15th dec 2006. all our efforts to get the same up and running is falling on deaf ears and even their chief public relations manager in bombay is not responding to the mails sent by me. the mails are bounced back saying the mailbox has reached its capacity. (neat way of bouncing mails isn’t it)
Whenever you call tehm and ask them the status they just say that they are working on the same and would resume by the end of the day. Probably that end of the day is yet to arrive for them. It was working before 15th december and suddenly when we have this problem every soul of VSNL has gone under some guise that they themselves do not know what to do.
It is really pathetic that if this is the way in which TATA is handling VSNl please Mr. Ratan Tata quit VSNL and concentrate on something else.
Either VSNL in not being run the way in which it needs to be or Tata is not able to get over with VSNL hegemony.
Either way it is not VSNL or Tata but hapless customers like us who are being taken for a ride by these so called service providers.

This is Mahesh More, from Pune. I am a VSNL (Tata indicum) broadband customer. On March 29, 2006, I had problem with my connection so I called their call center. They told me that the server was down and it will be okay within 3 hours, which as usual didn’t. Then the next day, I again had problem and they told me that server is working fine but my link is down. So they gave me complaint number and told that within 24 hours the engineer will visit your place and correct the problem, but till April 3rd their engineer didn’t visit and I was having same problem daily of “no link or frequent disconnection.” My link goes down after every 10 minutes, which interrupts my work. So on April 3rd, I went to their head office with a written complaint with all the problems mentioned in that and the loss I have to face and the consequence that I will have to face if the problem persists. After lot of effort and hell lot of time I was able to catch hold of their Customer Care Head, Meenakshi, who I doubt cares about the customers. I gave the written complaint to her and after going through that she told me that she will need some time to rectify the problem. I told that I have launched complaint on March 30 and I have given you lot of time to take care of the problem. I cannot give more time for the same problem again as I am facing loss because of this problem and my job is in danger. I asked her to give me in writing that I have given you a written complaint and that will be looked upon ASAP on which she started shouting and telling me, “Do whatever you want to do. We have not got your complaint.” I told her that I have launched the complaint and call center executive told me that they have forwarded the complaint on same day but no body has looked upon that complaint. On that she told me that if you don’t want to wait you do what you want to do, go to the ‘consumer court’ or anywhere you want and she refused to accept my written complaint. I had no answer to their approach and I had to walk empty handed. I thought at least now they will handle the problem more seriously but nothing happened. These TATA INDICOM broadband people are very fast to collect their bills. They will call 3 days before the due date and remind us to pay the bill but same is not happening when the customer is facing the problem. I will definitely have to go to the ‘consumer court’ for the compensation of my loss, which I think TATA’s will never give because they have power and money and they can dissolve the case.

This is to bring to your kind notice that i have applied for broad band connection on 25th Feburary 2006 bearing application no. 1551981, i.e today it is 3/4/2006. As on to this date i have not yet got the connection. And when ever i call up the sales excutive or the authroised dealer, they dont pick up the phone. If the service is going to be like, I will be very difficult for tata vsnl to survive, as there are some many service providers in the race, what it really counts is the service & commitment. If these 2 things are not there, i dont think they are going to last long.

don’t bother getting vsnl broadband. They inherited all the stupid Dishnet employees who are downright lazy. Its worthless. They use cabling that stretches for kms across packed roads. So you will never get reliability. Imagine your sloppy cablewala crossing the national highways. Thats dishnet aka vsnl broadband.

i have applied for VSNL broad brand connection on 1/2/2006 for 128 kbs post paid for rs 900 and my application number is 690836 even after my complain no 3091743 dated 22/2/2006 my connection was not provided even i phone the company almost daily . But after my sevral day effort at the end i got my connection on 9/3/2006.The company person has promised me that u will get speed of 40 to 45 but even now iam getting of speed of 7 to 8 only . Even it take long time 1 minute approximately to open the yahoo, google site . VSNL Company has given me wrong information and kept me in dark please help me now my complain number is 3194825 dated 11/3/2006 regarding slow browsing

VSNL broad brand connection

sir,
i have applied for VSNL broad brand connection on 1/2/2006 for 128
kbs post paid for rs 900 and my application number is 690836 even
after my complain no 3091743 dated 22/2/2006 my connection was not
provided even i phone the company almost daily . But after my sevral
day effort at the end i got my connection on 9/3/2006.The company
person has promised me that u will get speed of 40 to 45 but even now
iam getting of speed of 7 to 8 only . Even it take long time 1 minute
approximately to open the yahoo, google site . VSNL Company has given
me wrong information and kept me in dark please help me now my
complain number is 3194825 dated 11/3/2006 regarding slow browsing

I have visited the site of VSNL on news that Broadband from it was
available at smaller places and registered demand for my use. But so
far not a sole has contacted nor any acknowledgement that they are
likely to issue or not the connectivity.

seven days now no one is responding

We took a VSNL broad band ,it worked for one day and after that for seven days now no one is responding ,this is also the position with others in the area who took VSNL

SIR, I WAS USING YOUR DIAL UP CONNECTION SINCE LAST THREE YEARS VERY COMFORTABLY AND ON EXPIRY OF THE DIAL UP PERIOD YOUR
SALES PERSONNEL HAVE MANAGED TO CONVINCE MY DAUGHTER TO GO FOR THE BROAD BAND CONNECTION. SINCE SHE IS A MCA STUDENT AND

Hey, I applied for the VSNL BROADBAND and there is no one from their end till
date (after 20 days) of getting the money!!! These cusotmer help desk answers
are f**king!!! BSNL nowadays shows more respect and customer service, VSNL
stands to loose the game if they are going to continue this pathetic state of
CRM!!! Also their contact numbers given in their website seems to be outdated (Try
calling Bangalore contact number and you will get BSNL voice message asking u to
check the number!!!) HARI
